Mastercard Invest to Grab and Investment Visa for Gojek

Visa disburses investment funds for Gojek. Visa financing is intended to encourage digital payments in Southeast Asia. However, Visa does not specify the amount of funding provided to Gojek.

The financing of this operation is part of the financing of the series Gojek F, as explained both companies Wednesday (7 out of 17).

The two companies will collaborate on the development of Gopay and the expansion of digital payment options.

"Gopay and Visa share a common vision of delivering convenient and fast transactions to consumers," said Gopay CEO Aldi Haryopratomo, quoted by the South China Morning Post. "We are excited to work with Visa to expand our solutions across South East Asia."

Previously, Grab announced a collaboration with Mastercard to launch prepaid cards to all users in Southeast Asia. Grab users can therefore use virtual cards or Mastercard physical cards to pay via the Grab app across South East Asia.

Thus, users can pay online products and services at merchants who can pay with Mastercard. This service should be slipping in the middle of this year.

Gojek has indeed opened a new round of financing since the beginning of this year. This time, the funding follows a series of previously announced Gojek funds.

Gojek previously announced that it has received funding from Thailand's largest bank, the Thai Siam Commercial Bank. The king of Thailand is among the main shareholders of this bank.

Gojek also announced that it has received funding from Mitsubishi Motor Corp., Mitsubishi Corp. and Mitsubishi UFJ Lease & Finance Co. However, the details of this investment agreement have not been disclosed. Currently, Gojek would have a valuation of $ 10 billion, according to information CB Insight.
